Firefighters in Catalunya reported the stabilization of several fires yesterday, notably those in Querol (Alt Camp), Flix (Ribera d’Ebre), and Montornès del Vallès (Vallès Oriental), on a day deemed high-risk for forest fires.

The blaze in Querol, which started around 2 PM, was brought under control by approximately 4 PM. Initially, a significant deployment of 21 units, including 6 aerial vehicles, was mobilized, later reduced to a dozen to consolidate control.
In Flix, 11 fire units worked to extinguish a fire on a property near a hermitage. Concurrently, in Montornès del Vallès, 8 ground units responded to an agricultural vegetation fire that affected an area close to the Mogent river.
Furthermore, the fire in Forallac (Baix Empordà) was controlled after burning approximately 11 hectares, predominantly agricultural land. This incident necessitated the confinement of residents in the hamlet of Canapost, a village of 17 inhabitants, for about an hour.
