Data from the Statistics Service of the General Council of the Judiciary indicates that the judicial district of Valls recorded a total of 48 family matters during the first quarter of 2026. This represents a 23.8% decrease compared to the same period in 2025.
Of the 48 family matters registered, 33 were divorces, marking an increase of nearly 20% compared to 2025 figures. In contrast, separations have become very uncommon, with only two registered in the first quarter of 2025 and none in the same period this year. Proceedings for the custody of non-marital children have also seen a decline, dropping from 14 in the first half of 2025 to 9 this year.
Activity in the courts of Valls continues to decrease overall, but divorces are still showing an upward trend. Modifications of measures have also fallen significantly, being one of the procedures with the largest reduction compared to previous years. The only procedure that has remained stable is separations, with five cases registered in both 2024 and 2025, a very low figure compared to other family matters.
Overall, the courts of Valls have accumulated two consecutive years of reduction in family conflicts. Nevertheless, divorces continue to be the procedure with the most weight within the family courts of the district.
