The first event in the cycle, which complements the exhibition dedicated to the architect and will be open until July 19th, was a well-attended conference. The talk, titled "Discalced Carmelites, The Order of Fra Josep de la Concepció", was delivered by Mercè Gras, archivist of the Order of Discalced Carmelites.
During her presentation, Gras delved into the religious and spiritual context that shaped the architect friar's career. She reviewed the history and values of the Discalced Carmelite order and explained the influence of this spirituality on the architectural work of Fra Josep de la Concepció. The event also served to contextualize the friar's figure within the cultural and artistic landscape of the 17th century.
