Historically, Firagost has witnessed notable achievements, such as the 3de10 amb folre i manilles successfully completed by the Colla Vella dels Xiquets de Valls in 2016. Other common top-tier constructions include the 2de9 amb folre i manilles, the 5de9f, the 4de9fp, and the 2de8 sense folre, achieved by the Colla Joves Xiquets de Valls in 2018.
In previous editions, a total of 28 top-tier 'castells' have been completed at Firagost, with the 4de9fp and 5de9f being the most frequent. The 'diada' has also seen demanding attempts, such as the 4de9sf, which is yet to be crowned.
The Colla Joves Xiquets de Valls approaches the 'diada' with optimism, aiming to complete three 9-level 'castells' and a pillar of level 6 or higher. Meanwhile, the Colla Vella dels Xiquets de Valls arrives in good form, seeking to surpass recent performances and start August strongly.
Both Valls 'colles' arrive at this event after previous performances that have served to consolidate structures and test new difficulties, preparing for the duel in Plaça del Blat.
