Agents from the Investigation Unit of the Valls police station arrested two 28-year-old men on Monday in the capital of Alt Camp. They are accused of a crime against public health, specifically drug trafficking, and a crime of electricity fraud. One of the detainees is also charged with document forgery.
The investigation began in early April after officers became aware of a possible indoor marijuana plantation in a property on Cèsar Martinell street in Valls. Surveillance operations confirmed the indications of a marijuana cultivation.
The police operation culminated on Monday with the entry and search of the investigated house. One man attempted to flee on foot before being intercepted, while a second man was found inside. One of the detainees presented false documents to impersonate another person, leading to an additional investigation for document forgery.
During the search, 302 marijuana plants and 21 kilograms of buds were seized, with an estimated illicit market value exceeding 140,000 euros. The property had been adapted for intensive cultivation, featuring 16 lighting units, four fans, two air conditioning units, and seven filters, and was illegally connected to the electrical grid.
The detainees, both 28 years old, were brought before the duty investigating court in Valls.
