The incident took place at number 5 on En Fortuny street in Vilabella. Five ground units of the Bombers de la Generalitat (Catalan Firefighters) quickly deployed to the scene to extinguish the flames.
The fire started in one of the rooms of the house, which was completely burned. Smoke spread throughout the dwelling, affecting the owner and two other individuals.
The Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) treated a total of three people for smoke inhalation. The property owner was ultimately evacuated to the Pío Hospital of Valls for specialized care.
Due to structural damage, the Firefighters requested the presence of the municipal architect to review the condition of the house's structure and verify if there was a risk of collapse. It has been determined that some affected areas will need shoring up.
