Vallmoll hosts Fira Campera paella contest with 21 groups

The Fira Campera in Vallmoll has begun its second day with a paella competition that brought together 21 participating groups and around 300 diners, accompanied by music and festive activities.

The town of Vallmoll experienced today the second day of its Fira Campera, marked by the paella cooking contest. This culinary event saw the participation of twenty-one teams, who showcased their cooking skills throughout the morning.
While the participants prepared their dishes, the festivities were enlivened by musical performances. At 12:30 PM, the rumba group Los Salaítos performed to boost the atmosphere. Later, at 2:00 PM, the jury began tasting the various paellas for evaluation.
An hour later, at 3:00 PM, the contest awards were presented, including three main prizes and a special award. Additionally, each participating group received a 50 euro subsidy to cover their paella preparation expenses.
The communal paella lunch gathered approximately 300 attendees, who enjoyed the dishes prepared by the contestants. The festive day continued in the evening with a performance by the Cor Rociero de l’Associació Cultural Pasión Flamenca de Cunit at 8:00 PM.
The Fira Campera's activities will extend into the night, with a 'carmanyola' (packed lunch) dinner at each stall at 9:30 PM, followed by a flamenco dress contest at 10:00 PM. To conclude the fair, the rumba group Arrels de Gràcia will perform.
