The Valls City Council plenary session has approved a motion in an extraordinary meeting to commemorate the international day for LGTBIQ+ liberation, with the support of the majority of municipal groups.

The proposal received 19 votes in favor and one against. The approved text establishes the council's commitment to support the Orgull Vallenc organization in coordinating initiatives that promote awareness and visibility of affective, sexual, and gender diversity within the municipality.
The document emphasizes the need to turn municipalities into spaces of coexistence and freedom. Agreed measures include strengthening prevention actions against hate speech and discrimination, both in educational settings and municipal facilities or digital environments.
The motion also urges higher administrations to continue deploying resources to ensure the effective application of current laws on equality and non-discrimination, as well as to promote historical memory policies for individuals persecuted for their sexual orientation during the dictatorship.
