The Department of Civic Action and Youth of Valls has announced its summer program, which includes more than fifty proposals for various audiences. 'Estiu Actiu', aimed at adults, marks its thirteenth edition, while 'Estiu Actiu Jove', focused on young people, celebrates its fourth. The activities will run from Monday, June 29, to Friday, July 17.
Registration will open on Tuesday, June 9, at 10:00 AM and will remain open until two days before each activity or until places are filled. Interested individuals can register in person at the Civic Center (C/ Sant Pere, 2) for 'Estiu Actiu' and at the Espai Jove (pl. de les Escudelles 5a) for 'Estiu Actiu Jove', or through their respective websites.
'Estiu Actiu' features over 30 activities categorized as Minicívic d’Estiu (children's and family shows), training capsules, 'Descobrim Valls', 'Viu l’estiu al carrer!', 'Cuinem!' (Let's Cook!), and 'Juguem!' (Let's Play!). Heritage discovery activities continue, including a night visit to the cemetery led by Àngel Gasol and the Grup del Teatre Princnipal (GTP), and a tour of the Jewish Quarter offered by the Municipal Information and Tourism Office. This year, the Vermouth Tasting, organized with local business El Magatzem del Vermut, reaches its ninth edition.
The children's and family offerings within Minicívic d’Estiu are expanded, featuring a children's show on July 3 in the Pati, a water festival (replacing the foam party), construction workshops, a baby area, movement workshops, and chess tournaments. For older participants, memory workshops, walks, and game nights are available, supported by local entities, businesses, and services.
'Estiu Actiu Jove' presents activities grouped into themed mini-camps for young people aged 12 to 29. These include the Artistic Campus, Create and Design Campus, Urban Art Campus, Video Game Campus, Sound Campus, and a new addition, the Body and Mind Campus.
Another notable novelty is the third edition of Escalacaixes (Escalabirres), which this year is part of the summer program instead of the main town festival. It will take place on Saturday, July 4, at the Mas Miquel amphitheater starting at 6:30 PM.
