The plenary session of the Valls City Council has unanimously approved a motion demanding that the Department of Education and Vocational Training create a new high school to guarantee ESO and Baccalaureate studies.

The proposal seeks to ensure the continuity of ESO and Baccalaureate studies at the Jaume Huguet Institute, while maintaining the integrated vocational training center. The educational community, represented by family associations and teaching staff, has defended the need to avoid choosing between both training modalities.
The approved text requests the initiation of planning to build a new educational building in the city. In the meantime, it proposes a provisional solution allowing both projects to coexist in separate spaces within the current facilities.

"We want vocational training to move forward, but it should not lead to the disappearance of ESO and Baccalaureate; we do not want to have to choose between vocational training or ESO: we want both."

The motion also demands the presentation of a public report assessing the capacity of Valls educational centers to absorb students without compromising teaching quality. This document must precede any final decision regarding the future of the center.
Finally, the council demands that educational planning be based on pedagogical and demographic criteria, ensuring the effective participation of the educational community throughout the monitoring process.
