The city of Figueres will host the conference 'Quan l’impacte no acaba a la carretera' (When the impact doesn't end on the road) on October 21st, 2026, focusing on post-traffic accident response, victim care, and restorative justice. The event will be held at the Caputxins auditorium from 9 am to 2 pm.
The meeting aims to reflect on the needs of victims and their families once immediate accident care has concluded, seeking ways to prevent the judicial or administrative system from exacerbating their pain. The role of accountability, reparation, and restorative justice in these cases will be discussed.
Professionals from the police, judicial, legal, prison, psychological, and victim support fields will participate in the conference. Through real-life cases, the goal is to move towards a more humane, coordinated, and reparative post-accident response.
The program includes the screening of the documentary Vies Restauratives (Restorative Paths), promoted by the association P(A)T (Prevention of Traffic Accidents), followed by a panel discussion among the various professionals involved.

The panel discussion, moderated by journalist Gemma Alegrí, will feature Susana Poch Pujol (Head of the Traffic Territorial Service of Girona), Núria Bartrolich (Councillor of the Figueres City Council), Yolanda Domenech (Director of P(A)T), Maria Hilari (Dean of the Illustrious College of Lawyers of Figueres), David Ros (Chief Inspector of the Regional Traffic Area of Girona of the Mossos d’Esquadra), a representative from the Guàrdia Urbana de Figueres, Yolanda Romero (educator), Alicia Silva (psychologist for the Hora Punta program at CP Puig de les Bases), and Emma Ruiz Martínez (Traffic Prosecutor of Girona).
The conference will also include the presentation of a real case by Ramón Cos (Training Agent for Safe Mobility Education at Mossos d’Esquadra ART Girona) and Pere Joan Pujol (P(A)T volunteer), with the closing remarks by Vicente Sánchez, president of P(A)T.
