The Festa Major de Sant Miquel in Garrigàs concluded this past weekend, following two weeks of activities that filled the municipality with community and reunions.

The celebration began on Friday, October 2nd, with the traditional XXVII Tortilla Contest, followed by the opening speech by Enric Hurtós, the Xupinasso, and a concert by the group Els Toms. The next day, the Youth Commission organized a puzzle contest and an Adventure of Riddles through the town's streets.
A Civil Protection alert on Saturday, October 3rd, forced the suspension of activities planned for that night and Sunday. Thanks to the efforts of the Associació Balcó de l’Empordà and the cooperation of all involved, the events were rescheduled for the following weekend, October 10th and 11th, allowing the full program to be completed.
The festivities resumed on Saturday, October 10th, with a concert by The James Band and a set by DJ Adrià Giner. On Sunday, October 11th, the day included a solemn mass in honor of Sant Miquel with the Cobla Cervianenca, followed by sardanes (traditional Catalan dances) and a popular vermouth at the Sala Nova of the Civic Center.
The closing ceremony featured a fireworks display and a final toast, marking the end of an edition that has once again been one of the most anticipated events of the year in Garrigàs.
The Garrigàs Town Council has thanked the work of the Associació Balcó de l’Empordà, as well as the collaboration of entities, volunteers, artists, sponsors, and participants in organizing this edition.
