The subsidy is part of a broader call that has distributed nearly 9.4 million euros to 79 applicants across Catalonia, including 75 local entities and four businesses or services. This funding line covers almost the entirety of the budget allocated at the Catalan level.
The beneficiary municipalities are the Lladó Town Council (8,768.63 euros), the Portbou Town Council (26,230.38 euros), the La Vajol Town Council (3,716.39 euros), and the Vilamaniscle Town Council (3,875.13 euros). The largest portion, 76,826.77 euros, is allocated to the Alt Empordà Regional Council.
The main objective of these grants is to finance actions that contribute to promoting high-efficiency projects in the selective collection of municipal waste.
These projects include initiatives such as the selective collection of bio-waste, home composting, the collection of used cooking oils, or the management of textile waste. For local entities, priority was given to changing the collection system and implementing measures such as a fair waste fee.
