This initiative, part of the Cultural Spring, follows the success of a preliminary event last year. The project, coordinated by the library's director, has attracted various local cultural agents who have collaborated to spread knowledge about these unique works.
“"The aim is for the general public to get to know the world of artist books from various perspectives."
Artist books are defined as works that merge art and literature, conceived as unique pieces or limited editions. Due to their exclusive nature and high cost, they are not widely known. Therefore, the Cadaqués proposal seeks to break this barrier, allowing anyone to see and touch these types of books.
The program includes theoretical and practical activities, such as the children's artist book exhibition-workshop taking place on Wednesday, May 13 at the library, where works by Bruno Munari and Katsumi Komagata can be discovered. There will also be a talk by the representatives of Tinta Invisible on Saturday, May 16 at the Patrick Domken gallery, and cyanotype and textile book workshops on May 19 and 20, respectively.
The activities will culminate with the presentation of the artist book Llum i reflex by Fina Miralles, National Plastic Arts Award 2025, on Saturday, June 6 at the Teatre Art i Joia. Additionally, throughout all weekends in May, the Fort gallery will host the exhibition 'Artist Books with Artèria and Lourdes Figuera'. All activities are free, but workshops require prior registration.
