The town of Castelló d’Empúries is preparing to host the European Jewish Culture Days, which will begin on Sunday, September 6th. The opening day will include a guided tour titled “Castelló d’Empúries in a Jewish Key” by Empordabrava. This activity will explore the historic center to uncover the medieval Jewish heritage of the county capital, with a special focus on the synagogue of Puig del Mercadal.
At 6:30 PM, in the basilica of Santa Maria, a concert will take place as part of the XI Cycle of Music So de Lonh. The medieval music ensemble Locus Desperatus will perform with the repertoire “A pocho a pocho moro e vivo pocho”, featuring Marturià Prats and the chapel of the infant Fortuna. The musical program combines music from the Crown of Aragon with the great musical traditions of Flanders, France, and Italy from the 15th century.
