Castelló d'Empúries is preparing to host a new edition of the Sant Joan dels Erms Festival on Saturday, August 29th, a celebration combining tradition, popular culture, and music.

The event will begin at 6 PM with a popular walk to the hermitage of Sant Joan dels Erms. Upon arrival, participants can enjoy a 'xindriada' (a traditional refreshment), fostering a sense of community at this emblematic local site.
At 7 PM, the festival continues with a performance of four sardanas by the Cobla Rossinyolets. This will be accompanied by the Gegants de Castelló d'Empúries (traditional giant figures), enhancing the event's popular culture and tradition.
In the evening, the celebration moves to the plaça dels Homes. At 10 PM, there will be a 'cantada d'havaneres' (a concert of traditional sea shanties) featuring La Vella Lola, marking the end of the day's festivities.
All activities during the Sant Joan dels Erms Festival are free and open to everyone. The celebration is made possible through the collaboration of the Colla Gegantera de Castelló d’Empúries, the Cobla Rossinyolets, the Parròquia de Santa Maria, and Els Corriols-Associació El Salner.
