The 11th of January presents a much calmer day than the previous one, without the heavy snowfalls or strong winds that affected the Pyrenees. A sunny Sunday is expected across the region, although high wind clouds and morning fog may be observed in Central Catalonia and Ponent, which will quickly dissipate.
Despite the general improvement, remnants of moderate Mistral wind will persist in southern Catalonia and Tramuntana wind in the north of Alt Empordà during the morning. Both phenomena will clearly decrease as the hours pass, as will the intense wind at the highest elevations of the Pyrenees.
Following yesterday's significant snowfall and with rising temperatures, the avalanche risk is important, especially in the Aran and northern Pallars Sobirà, where a risk level of 4 out of 5 is established.
Temperatures will be mild for the season. In the morning, slight frosts were recorded in inland areas of central and northern Catalonia, and the Costa Brava dropped below 5 degrees in some places. By midday, thermometers will mostly range between 10 and 15 degrees, tending towards the upper limit.
