The Alt Empordà Regional Council has formalized the award of the school transport service for the next five years, with a total budget of 15.5 million euros to cover 69 routes.

The agreement, approved by the institution's Plenary, ensures the daily commute of nearly 2,500 students to their educational centers. This measure is particularly relevant for students living in small municipalities or scattered settlements, who need to travel outside their usual environment to attend classes.
The contract has been structured into fifteen different lots, which have been assigned to various companies in the sector through a public tendering process. The investment will be distributed over the corresponding years, following the school calendar and the effective provision of the service.

"The territorial reality of the Alt Empordà, with small municipalities and scattered settlements, makes it essential to have a school transport service that guarantees students' access to their educational centers."
