The municipality of Vilamaniscle, in Alt Empordà, is preparing to host the seventeenth edition of the Jazzejada, an event taking place on August 6th starting at 8:30 PM. The event invites attendees to stroll through the town's streets and squares, enjoying different musical styles and wines produced by local wineries.
The festival will feature five concerts spread across various venues in the municipality, including the village entrance, the Main Square (Plaça Major), the Can Micaló space, and the multi-purpose court. Additionally, there will be a chill-out zone and service points to complete the experience that blends music, heritage, and gastronomy.
The performances will begin at 8:30 PM with the Gumbo Jass Band, playing traditional New Orleans jazz. At 9:00 PM, the Main Square will host the Simon Osuna Quartet, focusing on the double bass as a solo instrument. Later, at 9:45 PM in Can Micaló, the Sara Aldana Sextet will perform, fusing jazz, Latin rhythms, and Afro influences.
The music continues at 10:45 PM in the Main Square with the Jazz Clar Quintet, who will adapt jazz standards into Catalan. The night will culminate at the multi-purpose court with the Tòfol Martínez Blues Band, known for their intense blues with soul and rock influences.
The wine selection will include wines from four Empordà wineries: AV Bodeguers (Suneus Blanc 2025 and Suneus Negre 2022), Mas Pòlit (Terra Indika Rosat 2025 and Terra Indika 2025), Oliveda (Furot del Monestir and La Fura), and Mas Llunes (Àuria and Maragda rosat 2025).
A night to stroll without haste, discover corners of the village, and let yourself be carried away by the music.
