This initiative, now entering the phase of incorporating the first participants, offers the possibility of reducing electricity bills without the need to install solar panels on their own homes or premises. An informational meeting for interested parties will be held on September 7th, at 4:30 PM, at the Casal.
The photovoltaic installation at the Civic Center has a peak power of 41.40 kWp and a nominal power of 36 kW. It is designed for collective self-consumption via the grid, with surplus compensation, and an estimated annual production of approximately 50,500 kWh of renewable electricity. The Town Council will be responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the system.
Initially, the energy community is aimed at retail businesses and families in vulnerable situations. To participate, the electricity supply point must be located within 5,000 meters in a straight line from the Civic Center installation. Participants will receive a portion of the generated energy, and surpluses will be compensated on their bills. They will also have access to a digital platform to monitor consumption and generation, and receive energy advice.
Two participation schemes have been established: Scheme A (1 kWp) with an annual fee of 53.34 euros and an estimated net saving of between 30 and 55 euros. Scheme B (2 kWp) costs 83.04 euros annually and projects a net benefit of between 60 and 100 euros. The final savings will depend on simultaneous consumption and the surplus compensation price.
The project highlights its social aspect. Residents in vulnerable situations may benefit from a 95% fee reduction, subject to verification by municipal social services.
The initiative has completed its administrative procedures, including the approval of the fee assignment bases and the fiscal ordinance. The Girona Provincial Council has subsidized the installation with 30,000 euros. The application period will open on September 7th and will last for fifteen business days.
