The Girona Farmers' Guild maintains the AP-7 blockade in Pontós for the fifth day, demanding "something palpable" from President Illa before their scheduled meeting this afternoon.

The Farmers' Guild (Gremi de la Pagesia) has reiterated its demand to the President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, to give explicit support to the commitments acquired by the Minister of Agriculture, Òscar Ordeig, during a previous meeting at the Bàscara Town Hall.

"Farmers want Illa to give full support to Ordeig's commitment and something palpable to lift the AP-7 blockade."

The guild's spokesperson in Girona, Jordi Ginabreda, confirmed that the blocking of the AP-7 highway in Pontós will continue, at least until the meeting scheduled with Illa this afternoon. Ginabreda regretted that Minister Ordeig "sometimes does not have the support of the Government" in his efforts.
While acknowledging that "some progress" has been made since the Cervera agreements reached a year ago, the spokesperson stressed that many fundamental issues "are still pending" due to administrative sluggishness.

"Bureaucracy prolongs everything greatly, and we are people who, when we have a problem, must fix it immediately."
