The Pau City Council has definitively approved a new ordinance to regulate the pricing for electric vehicle charging services, which will take effect with the installation of two new charging points.

The new ordinance, approved by the municipal council on September 29th, will establish the rates for using future electric vehicle chargers in the municipality. This regulation will not affect the current charging point but will apply once two new semi-rapid charging units are operational.
The council has already secured the necessary budget for the purchase and installation of these two new units. While initially regulating semi-rapid charging, the ordinance also includes future provisions for rapid and ultra-rapid charging.
A reduced price will be applied to vehicles that pay their circulation tax in the municipality, as detailed in an accompanying official tariff table. The reasons behind this regulation were subject to public consultation on April 16th.
Following the public consultation, the ordinance was initially approved by the council on June 16th and then made available for public review. During the hearing period, one objection was received and unanimously rejected in the latest council meeting, leading to the final approval of the ordinance.
