The Colla del Ranxo de Pau will travel to Rialp on October 3rd and 4th to formalize its adhesion to the Federació d’Escudelles, Ranxos i Sopes Històriques de Catalunya (FERSHC). As part of the 13th Gathering of Historical Catalan Stews, Ranchos, and Soups, the group will cook a traditional 'ranxo' stew.
This gathering, held since 2013, brings together FERSHC member groups and invited guests, establishing itself as a tribute to popular cuisine and Catalan traditions. This year's event boasts the largest number of participating groups to date.
Throughout the weekend, groups from across the country such as Albons, Capmany, Pau, Castellterçol, Gelida, la Seu d’Urgell, Ponts, Verges, Vidreres, Montmaneu, Talarn, Isona, and Rialp, along with international participants from Andorra, Italy, France, and local Pallars residents, will share recipes and culinary knowledge.
From six in the morning on Sunday, the fires under the cauldrons will begin to crackle, preparing the traditional stews, 'ranchos', and soups. By mid-morning, the streets of Rialp will be filled with aromas and anticipation to taste these historical dishes.
The gathering promises a festive atmosphere with entertainment, music, and good cheer, making Rialp a scene of conviviality and gastronomic pride.
