The so-called "law of the ex" was fulfilled cruelly against the team from Alt Empordà. Former striker Aliou Traoré, who now leads the Montanyesa attack, scored three goals in just half an hour at the Bombonera de Nou Barris, surpassing his goal tally for the entire previous season with Peralada.
Aliou Traoré's goal-scoring prowess in the first half opened a wound too severe for Peralada, which proved unable to come back from a 0-3 deficit at halftime.
The team managed by Àlex Marsal attempted to react with a triple substitution in the second half, but only managed to narrow the gap with a goal from Master Omar in the 55th minute. Shortly after, the player from Gambia was substituted and received a red card once he was already off the pitch, leaving the final score at 1-3.
This defeat keeps Peralada in the seventh position in the table, moving them further away from the play-off objective. Àlex Marsal's squad now faces two complicated weekends, as they will start the second round visiting the league leader, Badalona, and will subsequently host Cornellà, two clear candidates for promotion.
