The maritime area of the port entrance, between the Sports Harbor breakwater and the Fishermen's Quay, was the main setting for the annual seabed cleanup at Port of Roses. Operations also took place in the stone area of the breakwater, where debris carried by the sea accumulates.
Among the extracted debris are a wide variety of materials such as plastics, glass, tires, ropes, and fishing gear. Larger or unusual items were also recovered, including fences, chairs, a toilet, and an awning. As in previous editions, numerous cans and glass bottles were removed.
This action is part of Port of Roses' commitment to marine environment protection and responsible environmental management, supported by the environmental certifications Biosphere, Blue Flag, EMAS, and CETS.
The event also includes an important component of environmental awareness, aiming to educate port users and the public on the importance of keeping coastal areas free of waste and fostering a culture of respect for the marine environment.
Port of Roses thanks the participants, Club Badia, and collaborating companies for their involvement, reminding that the care of the marine environment is a shared responsibility.
