The history and secrets of the archaeological remains and the Palol Sabaldòria farmhouse were the focus of a guided tour in Vilafant. Professor Toni Cobos led attendees through an educational route to understand the past and relevance of this emblematic space in the Alt Empordà municipality.
The Heritage Councillor, Xavi García, highlighted the importance of making local heritage known. "Only by valuing what we have inherited can we preserve it and pass it on to future generations," he stated, emphasizing the value of connecting with the past to ensure its conservation.
The event included a literary proposal by Creàlit, a collective of writers and illustrators from Alt Empordà. The fourth edition of "Figueres de Por. Edició Vilafant" was presented, a work created during Halloween night 2025 at the Palol Sabaldòria farmhouse.
The authors read stories from the volume, a collection of horror tales set in Empordà and illustrated by creators from the region. This activity established a link between local heritage and contemporary cultural creation.
Culture Councillor, Dolors Caballero, noted the value of initiatives that promote culture and reading, connecting them with heritage to "generate new ways of experiencing and showcasing it."
The mayor of Vilafant thanked Creàlit for choosing the municipality and Palol Sabaldòria for their creative gatherings, highlighting how these collaborations enrich cultural life and promote local heritage beyond Vilafant.
The European Heritage Days aim to bring citizens closer to heritage elements, fostering knowledge and conservation through community participation, history, culture, and community.
