The CAPI Baix-a-Mar, starting next October 5th, will give greater prominence to the role of the reference health administrator. This professional figure will assume a key function in managing and guiding non-urgent demands from the population assigned to the center.
This improvement to the organizational model, known as UBA3, aims for each user to know their reference health administrator, who will assist them in managing their needs in coordination with the family doctor and nursing professional.
When a patient contacts the center, whether in person, by phone, or electronically, their request will be registered and managed by their reference health administrator. This professional will be able to resolve administrative tasks, schedule appointments, provide information about tests or visits, and direct the request to the most appropriate professional within the healthcare team.
The new organization strengthens coordination among family medicine, nursing, and health administration professionals. The goal is for non-urgent demands to be managed efficiently to determine the most suitable response, avoiding automatic appointments when unnecessary and providing more personalized care.
In cases requiring assessment by the reference team, the center will contact the user within approximately 12 to 24 business hours. This change aims to facilitate more accessible care, reduce unnecessary procedures and travel, and provide a more tailored response to each need, without altering the circuit for urgent situations or the reference professionals.
This evolution responds to the increasing complexity of primary care demand, aiming for a model where each professional can develop their skills more effectively and in a coordinated manner. Strengthening the health administrator's role will allow doctors and nurses to focus more on clinical care.
During the initial months of implementation, CAPI Baix-a-Mar will monitor the model's performance and conduct informative actions and participation forums with citizens and local entities.
