The new Strategic Tourism Plan for Les Cabanyes, developed over nearly six months by the consultancy firm Decaba with technical support from the Diputació de Barcelona, has been officially presented. This document outlines future work strategies for the municipality's tourism development, aiming for a shared approach with local businesses and residents.
The proposed tourism model aligns with core values such as sustainability, ecomobility, accessibility, uniqueness, and digitalization, as highlighted by the council. At the presentation event last Thursday, Elisabet Gonzalez, head of the Tourism Technical Office at the Diputació de Barcelona, emphasized the importance of strategic planning in fostering quality and sustainable tourism.
During the gathering, two projects developed in 2025 with financial backing from the Diputació de Barcelona were also unveiled. The first is a new collection of promotional graphic material, designed by the communication company La Fatxenda, intended to showcase the municipality's heritage and tourist offerings.
The second project presented is a model of the Roman villa of Les Cabanyes, created by Festa Catalunya using ground-penetrating radar study data. This reconstruction allows for visualization of the villa's layout and spaces, even though the archaeological remains are buried. The model includes QR codes providing supplementary information about the era and the site.
The day concluded with a tasting of wines and cavas from local producers, celebrating regional products and the link between heritage, landscape, and enogastronomy. The Town Council expressed gratitude for the support from the Diputació de Barcelona, the Consorci de Promoció Turística del Penedès, and the involvement of all participating individuals, companies, and entities.
