The city of Vilafranca del Penedès will host the ninth edition of Obrim Vilafranca on September 26th and 27th, an initiative that opens twenty local architectural heritage sites to the public.

The event will allow the discovery of often hidden buildings, including private homes, institutional headquarters, and old warehouses, thanks to the collaboration of property owners and local associations. The Councilor for Tourism, Gemma Romeu, presented the new edition at the El Parquet building, one of the new visitable spaces.
This year, three new spaces are incorporated: El Parquet, a unique construction from the early 20th century; the rooftops of Santa Maria, revealing spaces built between the 17th and 19th centuries; and the Joana Raspall Library, located in the Cortina warehouses, a project by architect Santiago Güell from 1895, which will be visited together with the Sala Alfons XIII.
Visits will take place on Saturday, September 26th, and Sunday, September 27th, with extended hours, including Saturday morning. All visits require prior reservation through the Vilafranca City Council's ticket sales platform, starting Thursday, September 17th, at 10 am, with a price of 2.20 euros.
Obrim Vilafranca aims to revalue architectural heritage and promote its conservation. One of its unique features is that visits are led by the property owners themselves or people closely linked to the spaces, offering close-up stories and experiences.
The event also aims to attract visitors from other municipalities and promote Vilafranca beyond the region. According to Gemma Romeu, the goal is for these visits to be a gateway to discovering other attractions of the town.
Participants can enjoy a glass of wine or cava in the courtyard of Casa Janer, home of Covides, reinforcing Vilafranca's status as the Wine Capital. The tasting will be available on Saturday, September 26th, and Sunday, September 27th.
