Over 40 volunteers from the Sant Camil Association received training on addressing unwanted loneliness, a growing social issue.

More than 40 volunteers from the Sant Camil Volunteers Association participated last Monday, September 28th, in a training session titled “Accompanying Unwanted Loneliness”. The event took place at Espai Caixa.
The training was led by Mr. Jesús Plano, a psychologist from CSAPG and member of the Psychosocial Care Team (EAPS). This initiative is part of the Comprehensive Care Program for People with Advanced Illnesses and their Families, promoted by the "la Caixa" Foundation.
During the session, various aspects of unwanted loneliness, an increasingly present social reality, were discussed, and practical tools and resources were provided to improve support for those experiencing it.
This training marks the beginning of the annual program for Sant Camil Association volunteers. The aim is to foster continuous learning and offer resources for the altruistic work they carry out at the Residence, Espai Caixa, and the hospital.
