Companies from Santa Margarida i els Monjos have officially established Connecta SMMonjos, a new association to strengthen cooperation and promote joint projects aimed at improving the competitiveness of the municipality's industrial estates.

The new entity is created with the objective of fostering relationships and cooperation among the local business community, responding to the shared desire for a stable platform for representation, coordination, and local economic development. This initiative was driven by the Town Council of Santa Margarida i els Monjos, through its Economic Promotion service, with technical support from the Alt Penedès Regional Council and the Barcelona Provincial Council.
Connecta SMMonjos aims to enable companies to jointly address needs and challenges affecting the municipality's economic activity, particularly within the industrial estates. Areas of focus include infrastructure improvement, energy, sustainability, mobility, training, talent acquisition, shared service creation, business promotion, and access to aid.
The founding board of directors is headed by president Pablo Otero (Affinity Petcare, SA), alongside vice-president Juan Antonio Padilla (Covestro), treasurer Carmen Toro (Gedia España, SL), and secretary Pere Canals (Tecnoequip). Board members also include Karina Crespo (Klingele Embalajes Iberia, SL), Ignasi Segura (Sandhar Technologies Barcelona, SL), and Pedro Carmona (Silvalac, SA).
The association will facilitate joint representation of companies before public administrations, access to funding for collective projects, and the promotion of shared initiatives in areas such as energy, mobility, sustainability, innovation, and the circular economy.
