The interprofessional prevention team in Alt Urgell has initiated a participatory action in public spaces to gain firsthand knowledge of families' needs concerning upbringing, education, and technology use. The initiative aims to foster active listening and citizen engagement to identify concerns and define future lines of work.
Over the coming months, professionals will visit various parks and public areas in La Seu d’Urgell and other municipalities within the region. The goal is to engage directly with families and gather their concerns through three agreed-upon questions: the age of their children, their current main worries, and the type of support they would like from professionals.
The information collected will be used to identify common demands and design future support and guidance actions for families in the area. Concurrently, an anonymous physical mailbox and an online survey will be available to facilitate participation through different channels.
The organization emphasizes its commitment to reaching out to citizens in their everyday environments, adopting a participatory and community-focused methodology. This initiative is supported by a broad network of services from the Alt Urgell Youth Office, including the Regional Youth Service, Punt Òmnia, CAPAU, EAIA Alt Pirineu Oriental, EAP La Seu d’Urgell, the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Center, the Itinerant Socio-educational Intervention Service Alt Urgell, and the Youth and Children's Area of the La Seu d’Urgell City Council.
