The 112 emergency number received a total of 121 calls yesterday related to the storm that hit the Catalan Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees. The calls were primarily concentrated in the Alt Urgell region, with 52 alerts, about thirty of which were for the municipality of Oliana. Incidents were also reported in Pallars Sobirà (17 calls) and Pallars Jussà (11 calls).
The majority of the alerts were for fallen trees, especially in the Pre-Pyrenees area. According to emergency services, no injuries were reported as a result of the storm. The heavy rainfall was accompanied by hail and very strong wind gusts, reaching 111 km/h in Sant Romà d’Abella and 110 km/h in Montsec d’Ares, both located in Pallars Jussà. Precipitation levels included 38.5 mm in 30 minutes in Lac Redon (Vall d’Aran), 36.1 mm in Boí (Alta Ribagorça), and 27.2 mm in La Seu d’Urgell.
The storm also caused significant road disruptions. Traffic was halted on the C-13 in Llavorsí due to fallen trees and on the Guingueta d’Àneu due to flooding. The same road experienced heavy traffic in Rialp for the same reason. Other affected roads included the L-500 in the Vall de Boí, the LV-9121 in Llimiana, and the N-260 in Isòvol. Additionally, landslides occurred on the N-145 in Valls de Valira.
Finally, traffic on the C-14 was cut between Organyà and Ribera d’Urgellet, in Alt Urgell, due to a significant hailstorm that affected the road.
