The Bombers de la Generalitat extinguished a house fire in Montferrer i Castellbò (Alt Urgell) on Saturday afternoon, likely caused by heat from the chimney.

The alert for the incident was received shortly after 6 PM, mobilizing seven units of the Bombers. The fire was located between the false ceiling and the roof structure of the property.
The preliminary investigation suggests that the origin of the flames was the heat generated by the house's chimney. In addition to extinguishing the fire, agents also provided assistance to the homeowner.

In recent hours, six callouts related to chimneys or malfunctioning stoves have been carried out across the regions of Lleida and the Alt Pirineu.

Following this series of incidents, the emergency service has taken the opportunity to remind the public of basic safety advice for the use of fireplaces and stoves. These protocols can be consulted on the website of the Department of Interior.
