Capellades hosted the annual gathering of the Anoia region's Reading Clubs on Thursday, which brought together nearly 200 people at the El Safareig Library.

The event featured writer Maria Climent, author of four books, who conversed with one of the club's moderators, Maria Teresa Costas. The event was opened by the Councillor for Culture of the Capellades City Council, Àngel Soteras, who welcomed attendees and praised the libraries' role in promoting reading. Following this, the director of the Central Library of Igualada, Montse Lobato, explained how these meetings function.
The literary conversation focused on Climent's first two novels, “Gina” and “A casa teníem un himne”, which have been studied by most reading clubs, as well as her essay “Mai és una paraula molt lletja” and her latest novel, “Punt de no retorn”.
The meeting concluded with questions from the readers and a small snack. Capellades currently has three reading clubs: one for children, one general, and one for romantic novels, which will begin their sessions next January.
