The Plenary Hall of the El Bruc Town Hall hosted a working meeting on Friday with Ms. Elena Castro, head of the State Roads Authority in Catalonia. The objective was to analyze the planned actions to reduce the acoustic impact of the A-2 highway as it passes through the municipalities of El Bruc and Collbató.
Representatives from both councils attended the meeting, including mayors Rafel Galván (El Bruc) and Gemma Rodríguez (Collbató), along with councilors, secretaries, and municipal architects. During the session, the joint allegations presented by both municipalities regarding the project "Actuaciones para el desarrollo del plan de acción contra el ruido de la fase II en la autovía A-2, P.K. 569+000 a 576+000", processed at the end of 2025, were reviewed.
The town councils reiterated the need to review several project actions, expressing concern about the visual impact that some noise barriers could have on the Montserrat surroundings. The convenience of studying technical alternatives that preserve the landscape quality was advocated.
Additionally, the El Bruc Town Hall proposed a safe cycling connection between the town of El Bruc, the Bruc Residencial sector, and Collbató. The Roads Authority positively assessed this initiative, showing a willingness to study its feasibility to promote more sustainable mobility.
The meeting allowed the joint position of the town councils to be conveyed in order to find solutions that reduce the acoustic impact of the A-2, preserving landscape values and promoting sustainable mobility in the territory.
