The Ca Xapes venue hosted a talk yesterday on gender bias in health, as part of the commemoration of the International Action for Women's Health Day.

The event, promoted by the equality and feminism department, featured participation from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. The speaker, Annabel Pellicer, a specialist in family and community medicine, explained the biological differences between men and women and how these influence the manifestation of various diseases.
The session focused on the existing inequalities in treatments, diagnoses, and detection of health problems between the sexes. Emphasis was placed on how certain diseases present different symptoms depending on gender.
This activity is part of a series aimed at raising public awareness, promoting healthy lifestyle habits, and providing women with tools for informed decision-making about their well-being throughout life. The next and final talk in the series will take place on Friday, May 29, at the Convent del Carme, focusing on perimenopause and menopause, led by Marta Marcè.
