The Association of Municipalities for Mobility and Urban Transport (AMTU) introduced the T-social, a unified transport card set to benefit 70,000 users with social subsidies across 21 localities in the Barcelona regions, expected to be operational by late 2026.

The T-social is the result of collaboration between the AMTU, the Metropolitan Transport Authority (ATM), and the Department of Territory of the Generalitat. This new ticket, presented in Granollers, will initially benefit 21 city councils, including Igualada, Vilafranca del Penedès, Sabadell, Vic, and Martorell, among others. It is designed for the elderly, disabled people, and their companions.
The project began with the signing of an agreement in May 2025 for the management of user data. The signing of agreements with the adhering city councils will take place in the first quarter of 2026. The implementation of the first cards is scheduled for the last quarter of 2026, with full integration and launch during the first quarter of 2027.

"We are working towards an improvement that will benefit about 70,000 people, who will enjoy this T-social and make a leap to the contactless system."

Mar Molina · AMTU President
This card, which complements the T-Mobilitat and uses PVC support guaranteed for 5 years, will allow users to consolidate all municipal bonuses onto a single medium, simplifying administrative procedures. Furthermore, its implementation represents a “technological leap” towards contactless validation, enabling city councils to obtain real demand data to adjust services.
