The funds raised will be equally divided between research into metastatic breast cancer, driven by the Association for Metastatic Breast Cancer (AECMM), and improvements for the patient experience in the oncology unit of the Hospital Universitari d'Igualada.
The event, jointly organized by AECMM and the hospital's Functional Breast Unit, took place at La Nau del Rec and featured music from the '80s and '90s with DJ Javi Mancebo. It also included bar service and a solidarity snack, thanks to the collaboration of local companies and volunteers. Donations through the "Fila zero" (virtual donation line) via the website exceeded 4,000 euros.
The event organizers, Sònia Pérez and Cristina Garcia, described the third charity Tardeo as "a resounding success" and expressed gratitude to the 400 attendees for their presence and the remarkable generosity shown by the community's volunteers, businesses, and companies.
Across its three editions, the Igualada charity Tardeo has raised over 23,000 euros. The organizers noted that they never imagined such a reception and commitment when they first started the initiative.
The event was made possible by the selfless collaboration of around thirty companies and twenty volunteers from the region.
