The purpose of these awards is to financially recognize the talent, effort, and successes of athletes who excel in individual disciplines, having proven titles and outstanding results over the past year. A total of 11 athletes were awarded in this edition.
The awarded athletes who attended the event were: Iu Casamitjana (tennis), Quim Vich (orienteering), Oriol Marín (mountain running), Nil Aguilera (cycling), Anna Noguera (triathlon), Joan Masip (table tennis), Eduard Fàbregas (athletics), Albert Solé (duathlon and triathlon), Cristina Bru (duathlon and triathlon), and Laura Rodríguez (swimming). Accreditation will soon be sent to Marc Ollé Bernades (mountain running).
The mayor of Igualada, Marc Castells, accompanied by the Councilor for Sports, Patrícia Illa, presented the awards to the athletes in a ceremony held at the City Council's Session Hall. Castells highlighted the importance of these awards, initiated in 2018, aimed at recognizing the effort, commitment, and perseverance of these athletes who have achieved great feats and brought the name of Igualada to the world.
