Last Saturday, October 10th, the Pla de les Sitges del Camaró, located in the Xaró urbanization, served as the venue for an event dedicated to disseminating local historical heritage. The program featured a conference, a guided tour, and a practical carpology workshop.
The activity commenced with a talk and guided tour led by Anoia Patrimoni. Attendees had the opportunity to discover the history and archaeological significance of the Camaró silos, a site providing valuable insights into past food storage methods.
The event was further enhanced by a carpology workshop conducted by ArqueoVitis. Participants learned about this archaeological discipline, which studies charred or mineralized seeds to gather information on the diet, crops, and landscape of past societies.
The workshop was highly participatory, allowing attendees to select samples, clean them, and examine them under magnifiers and microscopes, replicating the work of archaeobotany specialists. This activity generated significant interest, offering a didactic and experiential approach to archaeological research and local heritage.
This initiative was made possible with the support of the Diputació de Barcelona, as part of efforts to promote and disseminate cultural heritage within the municipality.
