In a recent meeting, the head of Digital Territory at CTTI, Marcel Escudé Pascual, visited Odena to assess connectivity alternatives. The service improvement requires the implementation of a new, latest-generation technological node. Generalitat's technical services have determined that existing public buildings in the urban center lack sufficient height to ensure the correct functioning of these nodes, which need a direct line of sight with the public network.
For this reason, the feasibility study indicates that the only viable alternative is the construction of a rural infrastructure approximately 20 meters high on municipal land outside the urban core. The City Council will facilitate the necessary adaptation and electrical access.
This action will be carried out thanks to the new infrastructure construction program of the Generalitat's Secretariat of Telecommunications. Odena meets the viability criteria to be part of this public network, becoming one of the priority locations to receive this digital investment, key to closing the digital divide and ensuring quality public services.
