The legendary cycling race Pedals de Foc Non Stop celebrates its twentieth edition in the Val d'Aran, achieving a record number of 1,200 participants. The event, which was attended by the Minister of Sports, Javier Cavero, the mayor of Vielha, Juan Antonio Serrano, the world cycling reference José Antonio Hermida, Rafa Lopez from Zima Audiovisuales, and Pep Vega, director of Pedals de Foc Non Stop, expressed gratitude to the Conselh Generau d’Aran, the Provincial Council of Lleida, the Municipalities of Vielha, Espot, and La Torre de Capdella, as well as Baqueira Beret and other collaborating companies.
This year, the race consolidates its two classic distances. The Gold category attracts 1,000 cyclists for 211 km with 6,200 meters of positive elevation gain, while the Silver category will have 200 participants for its 83 km and 1,900 meters of positive elevation gain. The race will feature broad representation from all Spanish autonomous communities and international riders from Portugal, France, Andorra, and Switzerland.
The route, which crosses four Pyrenean regions, will include new, highly scenic sections. In the Silver category, the passage through the Port del refugi del Pla de la Font is noteworthy. Meanwhile, the Gold category will incorporate a completely new section within the Baqueira Beret ski resort, which will also host the final aid station.
