The event, held on a sunny day, offered participants the chance to discover some of the most notable landscapes and heritage elements around Viladordis on foot. The walk included interpretive stops with explanations on the territory's history, culture, and geology.
The route, spanning 8.7 kilometers with a 108-meter elevation gain, began at the Casal de Viladordis. Participants followed a section of the Camí Oliba, a long-distance trail connecting Montserrat with Ripollès. A key focus was the discovery of the Séquia (irrigation channel) and the irrigated landscape of Viladordis, with insights into their history and evolution.
Geology also played a significant role, with an interpretive stop led by the scientific director of the Central Catalonia Geopark, Ferran Climent, who detailed the area's geological history. The route traversed forest and irrigated land, following part of the Séquia channel, and offered panoramic views of the Llobregat River from the cliffs of Serrat del Carnisser and Roca Tinyosa.
The Santuari de la Salut de Viladordis, a heritage site of Romanesque origin, was among the points of interest. The walk aimed to highlight the Camí Oliba, which combines cultural heritage, landscape, and geology as it passes through the Bages region. It was noted that various walks are organized throughout the year to promote this itinerary.
The day concluded with a tasting of local products, including 'pa amb tomàquet' (bread with tomato), cured meats, and cheeses from the area. The regional councilor for Tourism and president of the Geoparc, Eduard Mata, positively assessed the success of the event, which had sold out its registrations, emphasizing its dual function: promoting the Bages tourism offerings and raising awareness about the Geopark's landscape and exceptional geological elements.
The walk was organized by the Consell Comarcal del Bages, through Bages Turisme and the Central Catalonia Geopark, with the collaboration of the Barcelona Provincial Council and the Xarxa de Productes de la Terra (Network of Local Products).
