The "Primavera Barroca" initiative is established with the goal of promoting and valuing Baroque art and heritage in Catalonia. This project, a result of collaboration between the city councils of Valls, Vic, and Manresa, the Diocese of Vic, and supported by the Heritage Agency of the Generalitat, brings together three projects focused on this artistic period.
The main pillars of "Primavera Barroca" focus on the architecture of Fra Josep de la Concepció in Valls, the recovery of the work of Marià Colomer in Vic, and the leadership of the Baroque Museum in Manresa.
The Museum of Valls participates with the exhibition "Fra Josep de la Concepció. The architect of Catalan Baroque", commemorating the 400th anniversary of the birth of this architect from Valls. The exhibition, curated by Mercè Gras, Dr. Carme Narváez, and Jordi París, will be open until July 19 and highlights works such as the Palau del Virrei in Barcelona or the Town Hall of Vic.
The "Primavera Barroca" program includes guided tours by curators, such as Dr. Francesc Miralpeix, tours of the Baroque Museum, and excursions to sites of interest like the Congregació dels Dolors in Girona. This initiative celebrates the cultural richness and Baroque heritage present throughout Catalonia.
The official presentation of the initiative took place in the Saló del Vigatà of Palau Moja in Barcelona. The event was attended by representatives from the city councils and museums of Manresa and Vic, as well as the Councilor for Culture of the City Council of Valls, Rosa Rovira, the Councilor for Urban Planning, Heritage, and Historic Center, Sònia Roca, and the director of the Museum of Valls, Jordi París.
