The Network for Early Childhood has presented its III Conference, scheduled for October 1st and 2nd in Cambrils. The presentation, held at a press conference in Pinaret Park, was attended by the Councilor for Youth and Childhood, Natàlia Pleguezuelos, and representatives from participating entities. The Councilor for Equality and Inclusion, Gemma Balanyà, was also present.
Natàlia Pleguezuelos highlighted the crucial importance of the early childhood development stage (0-3 years) and emphasized the Cambrils City Council's commitment to early childhood, along with support for the Network to meet the needs of children and their families. She noted that the establishment of a dedicated Childhood Council signifies this municipal dedication.
Anna Farré, head of the SOAF (Service for Family Guidance and Support), explained that the Network was launched in late 2023 to enhance community actions for early childhood, aiming to center it and create spaces for enjoyment, learning, and reflection.
Alba Quinto, a technician from the PICI (Intercultural Community Intervention Project), added that the Network is growing and has launched a new community space for families titled "Let's build the early childhood we want together." This initiative seeks active family participation in community transformation, alongside professionals and the wider community.
The conference will be divided into two days. On Thursday, October 1st, at the Cultural Center, there will be a professional workshop and talks for families. On Friday, October 2nd, at Pinaret Park, a fun family day will be held.
The program for Thursday, October 1st, includes the professional workshop "The educational value of daily life from 0 to 3 years: care, bonding, and competence" (12:30-14:30h) and the family space "Let's build the Early Childhood we want together" (16:00-17:00h), followed by the talk "Limits and communication in early childhood: supporting without breaking the bond" (17:00-18:30h), all led by Romina Pérez Toldi at the Cultural Center. A childcare service for children aged 1 to 8 will be available (16:00-18:00h).
On Friday, October 2nd, the fun family day will take place at Pinaret Park (17:00-19:00h), featuring various play areas and a storytelling session by Ludònia, as well as a creative workshop led by local artist Marta Nolla.
