The event, which will take place in the auditorium of the Cambrils Cultural Center, will feature a presentation by Juan Manuel Calvo Gascón, president of the organization Amical de Mauthausen. The conference is part of the XX Autumn Memory Cycle of Cambrils 2026.
Additionally, the event will be attended by Xavier Menéndez i Pablo, Director General of Democratic Memory of the Generalitat de Catalunya, highlighting the institutional relevance of the day.
The conference, titled "The deportation of Republicans to Nazi camps, 1940-1945", aims to delve into one of the darkest episodes of recent history, remembering the victims and the circumstances of that tragic deportation.
Admission to the event is free and it will be held between 7:30 PM and 8:30 PM.
