The Mossos d'Esquadra, with the support of the Reus Guardia Urbana, have dismantled a criminal group specialized in the theft of high-end bicycles across Catalonia.

The operation, which concluded on July 2nd, resulted in the arrest of two individuals as alleged perpetrators of eight theft offenses, one of them in the attempt stage. The total value of the stolen property exceeds 50,000 euros, according to police authorities.
The investigation began on May 27th after detecting several robberies with a similar modus operandi. The perpetrators used deception, posing as professional cyclists to gain the victims' trust before stealing the vehicles.
The incidents occurred in various Catalan towns, including Barcelona, Mataró, Castelldefels, Premià de Dalt, El Masnou, and Vinyols i els Arcs. Coordination between police forces allowed them to intercept the group in Reus following a final attempted theft reported by a cyclist.
