The Tarragona Provincial Council has presented a new 600,000€ aid line to support the work of research centers in the region, thus consolidating its commitment to innovation.

The Tarragona Provincial Council presented, this Wednesday, September 9th, the updates to an aid line aimed at supporting the work of research centers in the region. This initiative, launched last year with a budget of 600,000€, seeks to strengthen the role of research centers as drivers of development, innovation, and knowledge transfer.
In the first call, seven research centers received support, including IRB CatSud, which was granted 100,000€ for the Innovation Network in Health and Sustainability – XISS project. This project has led to the creation of the Clinical Research Unit (UIC).
As highlighted by the Council, the corporation is maintaining this aid line this year, thereby consolidating specific support for research. The first vice-president, Rubén Viñuales, noted that this experience has confirmed the strength and diversity of the research system in the Tarragona region, with projects related to health, sustainability, chemistry, agri-food, biotechnology, heritage, and wine innovation.
