Starting next Thursday, July 2nd, and running until Saturday, August 29th, the Gaudí Train organized by the Unió de Botiguers of Reus will commence operations. The aim is to provide residents and visitors with a new way to explore the city while promoting local businesses.
The initiative, sponsored by La Fira Centre Comercial, features a journey through various points of historical, commercial, and tourist interest. Two circular routes have been designed, each with five stops: Raval de Santa Anna, Portal de Jesús, Fossar Vell, Mercat Central, and La Fira Centre Comercial.
The operating hours for this experience will be from Tuesday to Saturday, with morning sessions from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM and afternoon sessions from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM. The train, designed for universal accessibility, will include an audio guide accessible via a QR code, offering tourist and commercial information.
With a maximum capacity of 55 passengers, free tickets for a single journey can be obtained with purchases made at establishments associated with the UBR and at the shopping center. Alternatively, tickets can be purchased on the train itself for 5 euros, allowing hop-on hop-off access throughout the day.
As an inauguration event, on July 1st at 8:00 PM, a summer party will be held at SoldeNit. Attendees, by invitation or prior registration, will have the opportunity to discover the new train.
“"It is a project for "social revitalization" that aims to ensure "more movement, activity, and opportunities" for businesses."
“"This first collaboration, which is "much more than a campaign" between both entities, will be "the first of many"."
The mayor of Reus, Sandra Guaita, and the Councilor for City Projection, Noemí Llauradó, have welcomed the launch of the Gaudí Train, viewing it as a key tool for boosting local commerce. The project is supported by the Reus City Council.
